I am mildly bummed out tonight. I heard a rumor that put a damper on my evening, and now it is hard to smile. I am trying to get my mind off the situation by listening to some Motown. Seriously, who doesn't love Motown? Hitler... he probably wouldn't like Motown, but he's dead, so his vote doesn't count.
In other news...
Saturday was my show in the IV. It was a much anticipated good time. The Minor League, the only trio of love in my life, rocked the socks off of The Cancun in Ladd. The show was a success. Everyone got paid, all expenses were covered, and I made back my investment. I can't ask for much more than that. The after party at my parent's house is what made the evening perfect. I remember why I went through all the trouble of doing shows, was because the after parties were always awesome. All of the kids from the opening bands hung out and drank lots of beers. Lots of my own life-long friends showed up. That made me happy. I had a fantastic conversation with my friends Zach and John. They really are sweet guys, and I am really glad they are there for me, even though they bring out the emo-kid in me sometimes.
Sunday, after waking from my evening of rock and roll debauchery, I bid farewell to The Minor League, Alucard, and FaceOff all of whom slept at my house the night before (and by "slept" I mean drank heavily and passed out at 5 a.m.). I gave my hetero-life-mate, Ellen, a ride back up to NIU on my way back to the city. It was nice to have good conversation with her and Lindsay the whole way up there. My parents met me in Chicago and we all went as a family to the Jimmy Buffett concert at Wrigley. I am not the biggest of Jimmy Buffett fans. I'll listen to him if he's playing, and I admire the fact that he has a sweet house on Sunset Key off of Key West, but that's about it. But it was fun to go with the family nonetheless. Everyone stayed the night at my apartment, and mom and dad got to meet all of my new roommates.
Today I headed off to work. The last day the musical, Circle of Friends, was to be performed at American Girl Place. The theater is now dark for the next two weeks, and I was hired on with the lighting crew to help take down all the lights in the theater. I have never done so much manual labor at AGP in the whole time I have work there, than what I did today. I am exhausted. I proceeded to fall off of the stage with a light, and then fall down the steps with a big cord. I have a few sweet bruises.
School starts tomorrow. My summer is now over. It was about time. I am ready to get back into the school thing again. Tommorrow is my first day of interning at Victory Records. I have to be there bright and early at 9 a.m. You would think that a indie label like Victory would have later office hours. How lame. Oh well.
Jug Wine tomarrow.... I can't wait, although I LOTHE Carlo Rossi. I am looking forward to seeing friends that I haven't seen in a long time.
Saturday I turn 21.... I am looking forward to enjoying my new found legal age.
This post was very long-winded. I think I am done now.
